A good overview
of a nice peaceful autumn day with a long German armored column out for
a little drive to the front, confident that the static AAA
emplacements in the hills nearby coupled with their own SPAAA assets
will keep them safe.

Ten seconds
later that confidence is shattered as a lone fighter engages the rear
of the column with machinegun fire.

Ok, so he
wasn't alone! A second fighter-bomber drops two bombs along the
length of the road taking out the head of the column and some more
SPAAA vehicles in the middle. His ominous shadow is clearly shown
at the bottom in front of that cargo truck.

Many vehicles
start to scatter while others pull off the road in a vain attempt to
shield themselves from the aerial assault. This unbuttoned JPz IV is
about to have about two minutes of non-stop terror handed to him.
It starts with this rocket salvo that thankfully landed a bit short of
the mark.

Another plane
attempts to finish the job with another salvo, this one seems a
little closer to home. Notice that the vehicle is now 'buttoned'!
SORRY! THE CAT ATE MY
SCREENSHOT! NO FULL SIZE VERSION AVAILABLE OF THIS ONE!

But it didn't
have the force to take out this very lucky little vehicle. It did
however damage the Main Gun.

And then the
luck ran out. Undeterred by the earlier failures to kill this JPz
IV, the fighter-bombers resort to dumping two bombs on
him... Ummm, they DID the trick!

Another JPz IV
getting the same treatment as above. The first explosion,
while missing the intended target, had enough blast force to brew
up the thin skinned Sd Kfz 7/1 that was nearby.
