Air Attack
Fighter-Bombers and Combat Mission

Page 2

Pictures in this sequence taken from Wild Bill's excellent Saving Private Ryan inspired "Ramelle" scenario.

Now this shot shows off the new textures for the Tiger.  Notice the darker colors and of course the newer orangish-red tracer color for the Axis forces.  Poor .30 cal team got caught crossing the road.

Ok,  so this picture doesn't have any Fighter-bombers in it.  Just be quite and enjoy the view!

Now on to the fun.  Here we see a fighter-bomber's rocket spread falling just a little shy of the target but that building is gonna need some new windows after those blasts.  Look below the Tiger and you can see that ominous shadow again.  You get real used to spotting those after a few turns of constant aerial attack.  Seems that MG team made it to cover...

Again we see the shadow as it passes by the Tiger.  The smoke from the two remaining rockets is just visible above the building.  Check out the much nicer building textures too!

HIT!  Unfortunately they built this Tiger pretty tough and it shook off these concussions and continued toward the bridge ahead.  Rocket attacks often leave crews shocked and vehicles immobilized due to track damage.  In this case though,  the tank was bound and determined to bury one little Private name of Ryan!

Beautiful isn't it?  Burning buildings,  German heavy tank,  shadow of death looming near,  rocket trails gracefully heading toward their intended victim.  Ahhh...Excuse me... I got something in my eye here (sniff sniff)...

Here is a better perspective of the final moments of this little Tiger that could,  but didn't.  After these rockets hit home (and they did!) the Tiger was immobilized and the scenario ended with Private James Ryan still very much alive!

Now for rest of series (Starting Tomorrow) the odds are bit more even...

Two separate scenarios were custom built featuring an entire 12 plane American squadron versus German convoys with attached and static AAA protection!  Watch the skies as they are going to explode!  Come back tomorrow!!!

How about a teaser you say? Hmmm....Ok

AAA assets will automatically target incoming planes and they tend to do it quite well!  This quad 20 fired several bursts into the fighter bomber and made it abort its attack.
