Enhanced Smoke

Steve has mentioned recently in the Combat Mission Forum that the smoke graphics have been given an overhaul and here is the result of this work...

Note: this is the second incarnation of these pictures. Some 3 hours after I posted the first set Charles was able to tweak them and here is the result. Now THAT'S quick service!!! Pictures taken on TNT 2 Ultra Video card, your mileage may vary..

 

 


And here is the result after the StuG has spent about a minute firing off smoke rounds.

 

 


A nice top down view of a half track as it burns in the night. Notice how the smoke is no longer flat in this view it used to appear in the demo!

 

 


Here you can see the translucent effect of the smoke. Currently the translucency level of the cloud changes as the cloud billows upward and gives a sense that the cloud is not of a consistent thickness. 

 

 


Buildings and terrain are also utilizing the new smoke. Notice the two distinct sizes of smoke here!
