Macintosh Mod Manager Programs
updated 10-17-2001

Here are two Mac Mod Managers for you to try:  Mac CM Mod Manager (MCM3), created by the MDMP team member Aikidorat, and CM MacMod, created by Bsoplinger.

Both allow you to convert any bmp (or PICT) to the correct graphics resource file used by CM on the Mac.

You need to download either (or both!) managers, then download any of the modification packages (MDMP or third party).  Use the MCM3 or CMMM to open and view the bmp images, and then choose which ones you want to use with CM.  The managers will do most of the work for you (see their respective readme files for details).

NOTES:

Do not attempt to patch a resource file (Graphics XX) that CM is currently using (ie, you should QUIT CM before modifying the files). If you don't, you run a good risk of crashing CM.

Mac CM Mod Manager
by Aikidorat updated 10-15-2001

Mac Combat Mission Mod Manager is a stand alone application that converts CM graphics mods and now sounds to the Mac.  MCM3 allows the user to convert individual bitmaps or PICTs, or entire folders of graphics at once.  Additionally,  MC3M allows the user to manipulate the CM resources directly, which enables the user to revert entire resource files (to the CM original or another version residing on your hard drive), or revert selected resource identities (to remove unwanted mods or graphics that don't play well on the Mac).

MCMMM is freeware.

10-17-2001

Here's what's new in MCM3 1.6:
========================================

1.  Winter graphics are now split between Graphics 10, 11 and 13.  I split
them according to the files in Graphics 4, 5, and 8.  The bmp mapping
information in the program reflects this change

2.  Runs under OSX, but the buttons are ugly.

3.  NOTE:  you need to download carbonlib1.1 or higher from the Apple web
site for this version of MCM3 to run.

4.  Runs much faster now. Conversion times have been reduced by some code
cleaning I did, and a general speed up of Realbasic.

5.  Refer to the full readme which is downloadbale above..  That will
explain how to use the program in general.  Only thing that has really
changed is the winter mapping.

5A.  The readme with screenshots is availavble above.  It contains photos of how to use MCM3 to modify CM.

6.  I've included file typer programs (not my own) to help if MCM3 does not
recognize PC bmps.  See that read me.

What's new in v1.5:
======================================

- added checkboxes for more control over what MCM3 does
- added support for sound files (mac system sounds only)
- added sound mapping info
- added log file
- added the ability for MCM3 to auto load the current resource when a
modified file is selected
- added error code to handle unexpected events
- cleaned up splash screen on open
- fixed fatal bug in the Copy all picts from resource command.
- numerous small fixes and clean up of the code

CM MacMod
by Bsoplinger

CM MacMod is a drag and drop application to apply graphic mods to the Macintosh version of Combat Mission. It also allows for exporting existing graphics to Macintosh PICT's to allow you to make your own mods. It can also delete graphics from the Combat Mission files to remove unwanted mods or problem causing graphics.

CM MacMod is guilt free shareware.
