Turn 9

For the purposes of this AAR, I have assumed the personality of Capt. Turner, unit A-0.

Orders – Turn 9

It’s time for my other two tanks to advance. I have plenty of infantry support in case any panzerschreck teams show up and I need their firepower in order to keep my casualties down.  Their new locations are relatively safe too.

Dog and Fox Platoons are moving forward too to secure my flanks.  If everything goes well for Fox, they will be the unit I use to cut off the enemy’s line of retreat from the town.  Baker is moving up to check out the next row of houses.

Finally, I’m sending the mortar crew back to their abandoned tube to see if it is still operable.

47 more seconds.  I wish that arty would get here sooner.

 Action – Turn 9

Baker’s move forward met no resistance.  I wish it were always that easy.  Charlie is still licking its wounds and I plan to take its handful of men and use it as a reserve squad.  Dog took a couple more hits from the same machine-gun and is waiting for the arty to put that gun out of action before it can move much farther.  Fox continues to move down the right flank unopposed.

The arty finally did start falling.  No shells got very close to the gun though. I hope he’ll do better because I’ll have to try an infantry assault if arty can’t get the job done.  The tanks fired a few times but didn’t seem to do very much other than make the infantry run and hide.

My arty has started falling and this was my closest miss.  Hopefully, they will be more accurate next turn as Dog platoon wants to move out but can’t as long as that gun is in action.

A tree burst (not sure from where) right above my .50 cal HMG puts 2 more people out of action.

This enemy machine-gun is being very resilient.  Several units including 2 machine guns have been firing away at him but he just seems to shrug it off and keep firing away.  He took out a couple more guys in Dog platoon.  But Victor-1 has a bead on him now.   The 75 HE should make him keep his head down.
