Turn 12

For the purposes of this AAR, I have assumed the personality of Capt. Turner, unit A-0.

Orders – Turn 12

The smoke the enemy has just dropped has temporally obstructed Dog Platoon’s LOS to the squads crossing the field but George Platoon should be there in plenty of time to deal with them.  I’m coming up to help guide Charlie Platoon and set up a command post in a house in the village.  I’ve asked the two tanks in the village to button up and shell an objective building to surpress anyone in them.  On my right, Fox Platoon is closing in for the kill.

I’m taking a turn to consolidate my gains.

 Action – Turn 12

First the good news…

then the bad news.

When I was playing cards with my Grandma, I’d sometimes try to take a trick with a low card.  She’d always say, “Never send a boy to do a man’s job.”  Well, it now looks like the “boys” of Fox Platoon are not “manly” enough to be my hammer.  The German Commander surprised me by repositioning a panzerschreck team and I’ve lost another tank.  Fox’s primary task was to prevent this but they let me down.  Now my “hammer” force is considerably weaker.  At least the guys in Baker, even with their reduced numbers, seem to be up to their assigned task.

A grenade EXPLODES!  Sgt. Dieterich, part of my “anvil” force, is in a fierce firefight with an enemy squad.

On the right, the 105 mm arty finally nailed the AT gun. It’s a good thing too as my mortar team had been spotted and fired at by the gun.  George Platoon is in a good position now and Dog platoon is also in good shape.

At least my middle and left are still solid though.
