Welcome to the
Map Vault Here are the Vault's holdings. Click on a link to view the map, and right-click on the image to save it to your hard drive if you like. All maps are in .JPG or .GIF format, except for the tactical maps, which can be opened using Combat Mission. Some are rather large in size, so be patient if you have a slower connection. COMBAT MISSION CAMPAIGN TOOL (COCAT) - COCAT (formerly known as COGAT, but the name was changed because there's a trademarked product with the same name) is basically an über-tool designed by Pål Woje which allows you to draw front lines on the operational map, show unit locations, and write basic orders. Needless to say this is extremely valuable. The link will take you to our COCAT page. CPX GPS MAP - This handy Java tool, written by Lance Pattist, is a quick way of showing grid references and calculating distances between two points on the CPX operational map. COGAT encompasses these functions but it does not yet work for the Mac, so this is an alternative for those who have Macs or just want to quickly check a grid reference. STRATEGIC MAP - A division-level map illustrating what is going on in the area surrounding the CPX. OPERATIONAL MAP - A blank battalion-level map showing the CPX battlefield. Each grid square represents two kilometers. Good for plotting artillery bombardments and large-scale maneuvers. Created by Rene Lloyd. ZOOMABLE OPERATIONAL MAP - This calls up a map where you can select a grid square and blow it up in size to illustrate small-scale movements. Excellent for illustrating battalion- and company-level orders. TACTICAL MAP ARCHIVE - These are the actual Combat Mission maps the tactical battles are fought upon. Necessary for setting up troops and for many GM functions. Click here for a list of the gallant folks who created these maps for the CMMC CPX. |
